Charged with creating a Pinterest-worthy spring tablescape, I was thrilled to team up with Clare Hoelderle of Red Bench Vintage Rentals and Avonlea Farm and bring our Farm to Table vision to life at the recent Spring Junk Bonanza in Minneapolis.
With dining al fresco all the rage, it was unanimous that we style an elegant backyard bash. Chock full of lush greens and flowers, vintage gems, local handmade goods and a few decor pieces from our personal collections, the set was overflowing with gorgeous textures, a marsala-inspired color palette and the perfect setting to an outdoor fete.
With us gaga for greenery and and an appreciation for farm to table blooms, we couldn’t resist not having the rich floral goodness anchor the table and beyond. Bountiful metal vintage bins spilled over with greens, berries, artichokes and romantic flowers spanning the color palette of blush to marsala. Yet, not to be outdone by a lush chandelier made up of a variety of greens and a rustic pallet backdrop covered in bright blooms and umbrella ferns.
A handcrafted repurposed bench, foraged stumps and an elegant velvet upholstered chair made for casual and fun seating around the coolest of farm tables. And I love the boundaries the vintage rugs created for the table. Always mixing shiny with dull and hard with soft, our table became as magical as we had envisioned. Sliced wood chargers framed mismatched china and colored glass place settings. Gold painted farm animals and succulents played double duty as place cards and favors. I love the unexpected details and the beautifully handwritten menu on the cutting board along with the message on the kraft paper runner.
Currently obsessed with showcasing some local flavor within the decor, the custom Minnesota string art hit the bullseye for fresh yet rustic – and a perfect addition to anyone’s home post-party. Enjoy!
